Quick Tip For Making Drill Beats

Here is a quick tip for making drill-type beats for beginner producers. Remember that the low end is the most important part of drill beats.

Make your BPM 140-145BPM.

If you are using Piano make it in a minor key with some positive attack.

Put Bandpass EQ on the melody.

Use Halftime VST with ~90ms on the left knob and 2x 1/1.  this is a quite popular trick.

Using automation to bring in certain effects for a few bars is also essential, like a phasing lowpass on the intro.

On the drum part first make sure to get some quality Drill kits.

Use Syncopated hi hats, inbetween ‘lower frequency snare’ and punchy normal snare.
