I usually shy away from “gimmick” plug-ins, but this one is really solid. It’s not going to replace proper mic technique, but it is a great way to automate specific tasks related to drum dynamics. When it works, it’s goddamn magic and your clients will be impressed (even if you are your only client!)

Plus, I’ve always had great support from Nir at Soundradix. This dude emailed me beta versions of AutoAlign when it didn’t work right in my sessions, and personally corresponded with me to find out what they could do to fix the bug.

It’s pretty awesome! For those always having to sample replace for consistency’s sake, this is a godsend. And it’s an amazing upward compressor. Figure’d I’d throw it out there, I haven’t seen much about it.

I have it, it’s really good at what it does. I work with a lot of multi-tracked drums, and Drum Leveler is excellent for fine-tuning dynamics when I need to.

It’s really transparent, so I use it as the first insert, then I do whatever other processing I need to do afterward.

I do a wide range of stuff based on a very open local music scene. I love Glenn Fricker’s youtube! I just picked up Drum Leveler myself, though I haven’t had a chance due to work and local musicians coming first, but I figured from his video and the other stuff I’ve seen on it, $139 isn’t a bad price even if it is half as good.
