1 If you’re into making your own sounds, it’s very quick and intuitive to come up with something unique. If you haven’t, check it out, definitely worth the price.
2 it boils down to workflow, as many of the features in Backbone are in Groove Agent 5. Backbone also has a resynthesis engine that’s super fun.
When I’m doing a project that doesn’t require Groove Agent, I use Backbone. When I’m using Groove Agent, I usually don’t bother with Backbone. Download the trial. It’s worth it.
3 Backbone is one of my favorite plug-ins, period. On top of everything else, the resynthesis engine is a lot of fun.
It’s also great for more than drums!
