Logic Pro X Review
The following Logic Pro X reviews are taken from an online producers community discussion about the product.
I’d say it’s pretty easy to use, I started out using GarageBand first then transitioned in to logic and it helped with learning to use the program. Before you buy LPX try using GB first.
Absolutely. Though, if you’re on the fence, I’d spend some time working with GarageBand. It’s a simplified version of Logic. Once you’ve spent some time and get comfortable with it, then you can make the jump over to Logic.
One thing that hasn’t been brought up is that besides being crazy cheap, it’s also baked into Apple’s ecosystem, so you never pay for updates. $200 for life, and you get all the newest shit when it comes out.
I started out with logic a couple years ago with the intent of recording “acoustic” instrument-based songs, since then I have moved onto producing electronic music, and it is still an unbelievable DAW, which shows how versatile it is.
It was recommended to me by a session musician who used it for making, mixing and mastering “professional” sounding songs.
I don’t know you or your music personally, but this is most likely the DAW for you, very intuitive for tracking/recording, extremely powerful. A shit tonne of effects and vsts built in. You can do virtually anything quickly, when you get enough experience. Try learning shortcuts, less clicking and dragging with the mouse and you’d be flying
I think Logic is the best value of any DAW. Reaper is a close second because it is only $60, but for $200 I think Logic is much easier to use and comes with tons more built-in features: synths, samplers, guitar amp, and cab sims, virtual drummer.
